Kirin is a holy animal from China. Ki is male and Rin is female. It is said that it also appears as an auspicious sign. Very gentle and kind, Kirin is even afraid of stepping on insects or plants under the feet.

瑞兆として姿を現すと言われる麒麟は中国に伝わる聖獣で、麒が♂で麟が♀。もともとは虹の龍の姿だったとも。とても穏やかで優しく、足下の虫や植物を踏む事さえ恐れるそうです。
